JOB PROFILE: 

A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) operator, also known as a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) operator, manages waste treatment plants that convert wastewater into a safe form for release into the environment. Their responsibilities include:

Monitoring: Regularly checking the wastewater treatment process and pump stations, and monitoring equipment and systems for malfunctions

Maintaining: Performing basic maintenance and repairs on machinery, and maintaining healthy MLSS

Testing: Collecting and testing water samples for chemical and bacterial content, and conducting water quality tests
